작가 황예숙은 회화적인 효과를 표현하기 위해 전사 프린트와 컬러 슬립을 사용하였고 반 고흐의 예술 세계를 입체의자 형태로 표현하고자 하였다. 반 고흐의 수많은 작품 중에서 은둔과 편안함과 외로움의 감성들인 Arles에서의 '빈 의자'와 '밤 카페' 두 그림에서 각별하게 '빈 의자'는 작가에게 강한 인상을 남겼다. 그 기억은 사용도 가능한 도자기 의자를 제작하게 되었다. 이번 전시 작품의 규모는 높이가 73cm에서 115cm 사이이며 3번씩 가마소성 하였다.
Artist Hwang Ye-sook used transfer printing and color slips to create painterly effects, aiming to express Vincent van Gogh’s artistic world in the form of three-dimensional ceramic chairs. Among Van Gogh’s many works, The Empty Chair and The Night Café from his Arles period—imbued with feelings of solitude, comfort, and loneliness—left a particularly strong impression on the artist. Those memories led her to create functional ceramic chairs. The works in this exhibition range in height from 73 cm to 115 cm and were each fired three times in the kiln.
