섬유예술가 차영순은 12세기 여성 신비주의자 힐데가르트의 삽화 〈사파이어 청색인간〉을 모티프로 삼아, ‘청색’이 품은 정신성과 생명력을 현대 자수예술의 언어로 재해석한다. 작가는 다양한 농담의 청색 수직실크와 은사를 이용해 행성과 은하의 빛을 상징하며, 점수·매듭수·씨앗수 등 섬세한 자수기법으로 평면 속에 3차원 공간을 구현한다. 작가는 인간과 자연, 지구와 은하가 긴밀히 맞물려 있는 관계를 예술적 감성으로 풀어내며, 청색의 스펙트럼 속에서 회복과 공존의 메시지를 제시한다.
Textile artist Cha Young-soon uses the illustration “The Sapphire Blue Human” by 12th-century female mystic Hildegard as her motif, reinterpreting the spirituality and vitality embodied in “blue” through the language of contemporary embroidery art. Using vertical silk threads in various shades of blue along with silver thread to symbolize the light of planets and galaxies, the artist employs delicate embroidery techniques—such as seed stitches, knot stitches, and dot stitches—to create a three-dimensional space within a flat surface. She expresses the intimate interconnection between humans and nature, Earth and galaxies, through artistic sensibility, offering a message of restoration and coexistence within the spectrum of blue.
